Chapter 131: The Little Madman's Bedroom
Page 1/3
Gazing at the young man’s bedroom before him, Ji Linmo furrowed his brows tightly. Just moments ago, he noticed Qin Feng had left empty-handed, walking alone. This meant that if Liu Xiao still had any breath left, she was most likely still inside Qin Feng’s room. And the antidote must still be hidden somewhere in the bedroom. Could it be that he had no choice but to enter this room himself?
In the darkness, staring at the deep red wooden door, an inexplicable irritation welled up inside Ji Linmo. His mind kept replaying the messages his sister had sent him.
[From Sister]
[Brother, he’s changed recently. Be careful of him! Absolutely do not enter his room!]
[Absolutely don’t enter!]
What exactly was behind that door?
Ji Linmo watched the bedroom door warily. The young man’s bedroom seemed to have become a bottomless cage; the moment one stepped inside, they would be ensnared in an endless quagmire with no escape.
Tick-tock, tick-tock—
Time passed slowly. The pendulum of the living room clock swung back and forth, and the second hand moved with crisp clicks in the silence.
He could not hesitate any longer.
His left hand trembled slightly as it grasped the doorknob. Taking a deep breath, he slowly pushed the door open.
Creak—
The dark red wooden door emitted a hoarse squeal as it opened just a sliver.
Inside the pitch-black room, where he couldn’t see his own fingers, the air was bitterly cold, resembling a morgue—deathly silent and oppressive.
“No lights…”
Stepping inside, Ji Linmo suddenly realized this bedroom had no lighting at all. Even the curtains were tightly drawn.
Was this some kind of vampire act?
Frowning, Ji Linmo scanned the room quickly. Not seeing Liu Xiao anywhere, he decided to seize the moment and start rummaging through the drawers, searching for the antidote.
Less than five hours remained before the meteor would ascend.
Liu Xiao’s life hung in the balance. Even if he found her, without the antidote to purge the virus within her, death would be inevitable.
And Qin Feng hadn’t seemed to take anything when he left earlier.
The antidote had to be in this room.
To facilitate his search, Ji Linmo raised his phone’s light to illuminate the space.
But the moment the room was bathed in light, his heart skipped a beat.
The entire room was painted red.
Under the glow, blood-red walls, a crimson bedspread, and a dark red bedside table made it feel as if he had stepped into a bridal chamber.

Why was it arranged like this?
Ji Linmo recalled that this house should have been his sister’s former residence.
Logically, his parents wouldn’t have decorated a young girl’s room in such a way.
Moreover, “Dad” had told Qin Feng not to disturb the room, probably to preserve her belongings. Yet now, there was no sign she had ever lived here.
Ji Linmo grew increasingly puzzled. Looking around the room, he sensed something strange about its layout.
The young man’s bed wasn’t positioned like a normal person’s, facing the wall. Instead, it faced the window, directly towards the curtains.
And the rest of the furniture seemed to be arranged in a kind of pilgrimage, oriented towards the two massive curtains.
Why arrange it this way? Was it to admire the view outside?
Finding nothing else, Ji Linmo moved towards the curtains.
But as he reached the bedside, he suddenly felt something soft beneath his feet. Looking down, he caught sight of a pale hand protruding slightly from under the blood-red bedspread.
It was a human hand!
Ji Linmo quickly crouched down, and when he saw that the person under the bed was indeed Liu Xiao, he grabbed her hand and pulled her out.
“Hey, Liu Xiao, wake up!”
The woman’s eyes were tightly shut, unconscious, collapsed awkwardly on the floor. Her hand seemed to point at something, her index finger extended.
Was she still alive?
Ji Linmo anxiously felt her pulse. Confirming she was alive, he cautiously scanned the surroundings.
The antidote wasn’t in Liu Xiao’s hand. Could it be that Qin Feng had attacked her?
But what exactly had happened? There were no visible injuries on her.
“Liu Xiao, snap out of it! Where’s the antidote?”
Shaking her vigorously, Liu Xiao seemed to regain a flicker of consciousness, mumbling softly.
Yet she couldn’t open her eyes. Her mind was foggy, as if delirious, constantly whispering something, her hand weakly pointing at the curtains.
“It’s Ji Linmo… so many Ji Linmos…”
Many of himself?
Ji Linmo glanced at the curtains in confusion.
What did she mean?
Though he knew he should leave immediately with Liu Xiao, some inexplicable force made him stand before the curtains.
Swish—
With a flick of his wrist, Ji Linmo first pulled aside the right curtain.
Behind it was a wall, tightly sealed, painted the same blood red.
This bedroom had no windows.
Ji Linmo stared at the solid wall, his expression perplexed.

What was the purpose of a bedroom with no lights and no windows?
And if there were no windows, why was the double bed and all the furniture so insistently facing the curtains?
“Let’s go. I’ll take you out of here.”
A growing sense of unease gripped Ji Linmo. In this cold, dark room, his instincts urged him to flee quickly.
But then a photograph suddenly fluttered down, landing beneath the still-closed curtain.
Under the phone light, the photo was striking, as if inviting him to lift it gently.
A photo?
Ji Linmo picked it up, and when he saw the young man dressed in a high school uniform, his pupils constricted sharply.
[Yuren High School, Class 12, Senior Year 2016 Group Photo]
“This…”
Ji Linmo gasped in disbelief.
Because the person in the photo was himself!
This photo had been deliberately cut from the graduation picture and magnified!
“It’s Ji Linmo… so many Ji Linmos…”
In the darkness, Liu Xiao’s trembling voice whispered, her feeble finger straining to point at the unopened curtain, murmuring repeatedly.
“So many… so many… Ji Linmos…”
From somewhere came a cold gust of wind, lightly stirring the blood-red curtains like a tail, as if longing for someone to pull it aside.
In the deathly silence, Ji Linmo slowly raised his hand and pressed against the thick, silky crimson curtain.
Swish—
With a final, forceful pull, the curtain was flung open, revealing a wall plastered with countless photographs.
All of them were of him.
All were Ji Linmo.
Childhood pictures, middle school photos, and numerous candid shots taken after he escaped the terrifying world.
These secret photographs captured scenes from home to the streets—everything imaginable.
Some showed Ji Linmo smoking at home, others trying on trench coats, and some depicted him standing upright, buying things outside a convenience store.
Every photo was meticulously developed and densely pasted on the walls.
In the silence, Ji Linmo slowly tilted his head to look at the furniture behind him.
In the gloomy bedroom, the bed, sofa, and chairs all faced the colorful, photo-covered wall.
This room had no windows.
But here was the view the room’s owner longed to behold.
