Chapter 91: Ji Linmo, You Can Only Belong to Me!
With a wet sound, the youth smiled as he drew the dagger from Lin Bufei’s chest, then turned to look at Ji Linmo.
The butterfly knife still lay quietly on the floor.
“Ha... Lin Bufei? Quit joking...”
Ji Linmo took a tentative step toward Lin Bufei, but as Lin Bufei’s body slowly went slack, sliding down the wall and closing his eyes, Ji Linmo’s expression froze in an instant.
He heard very clearly that Lin Bufei’s breathing had stopped.
“Ah, did you forget, Mr. Ji? Compared with a butterfly knife, I’m much more skilled with a dagger.”
Qin Feng stuck out his tongue with a smile, but in the next second his pupils contracted sharply, and he raised the dagger to block.
A nauseating, blood-soaked aura surged toward him like a wet, scorching blade, sweeping over him from all directions.
The man’s face, split from the middle into four petals, opened like a blooming flower of flesh, revealing a cavernous maw full of white, savage teeth, and he lunged at him in a frenzy, biting and tearing.
“Qin Feng! Qin Feng! Qin Feng!”
The dagger, a prop from the instance, was snapped clean in two at once.
The man pounced at the youth like a beast driven mad.
And yet even as he was about to be devoured without a trace, the youth still did not move. He merely narrowed his eyes, a strange smile on his lips, and watched everything before him in silence.
Thud—
Ji Linmo suddenly dropped to one knee. In disbelief, he clutched his abdomen, his body slowly curling inward.
Damn it, it hurts... I have no strength left...
What is going on?
“Does something feel wrong, Mr. Ji?”
Two broad hands lifted the man’s grotesque, flesh-bared, inhuman face, and the voice was gentle.
It was Qin Feng.
The youth seemed to be admiring some priceless work of art as he held the man in his hands, examining the monster that, to ordinary eyes, was terrifying beyond words.
“Ah, Mr. Ji, look. Even after becoming a monster, that decayed tooth of yours is still there.”
As he spoke, Qin Feng smiled and casually ran the pad of his finger across one of the countless razor teeth.
“What... did you do to me?”
Ji Linmo gasped for breath with difficulty, one hand braced on the ground.
His other hand, the right one that clutched his abdomen, tightened until the knuckles went white.
Wave after wave of pain crashed over him like seawater.
At this point, he did not even have the strength to stand. He could only be slaughtered at another’s mercy.
“Mr. Ji, did you think the drink I gave you only had something in it to lower the alcohol content?”
Qin Feng crouched down, his tone eerie and beguiling.
“Nope. Actually, I turned a rabbit into blood and put it in there.”
Ji Linmo’s breath caught.
He stared in astonishment at the youth before him, thinking he must have misheard.
“Mr. Ji, the instant you reverted into a monster, you purged the rabbit meat you had swallowed as a human.”
“But what about the little rabbit that grew back? What are you going to do about that?”
Qin Feng lifted a foot and lightly stepped on Ji Linmo’s back, and the man collapsed to the ground like a docile sheep.
“You madman... you madman...”
“I should have... killed you just now...”
The man, usually so cold and detached of face, now had a fine sheen of sweat on his neck. He curled up in agony, the powerful lines of his waist faintly visible beneath the hem of his clothes.
“Mr. Ji, let me help you.”
“I know a way to drive the rabbit out of your body.”
With that, Qin Feng pressed his cool palm against Ji Linmo’s abdomen and pushed down hard.
“Ahh!”
Even sharper pain instantly shot through Ji Linmo’s entire body.
Trembling, the man forced himself forward, trying to reach the butterfly knife in the distance, but the youth seized his ankle and dragged him back.
“Don’t run, Mr. Ji.”
“This is the punishment reserved just for you, for being disobedient.”
In the dark, spacious fourth floor, curses and weak cries of pain echoed on and on.
If anyone could have seen what was before their eyes, no one would have known whether to call it horrifying or grotesque.
A broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted man sprawled on the floor, and where his head should have been, there now grew flesh that was not human, flesh like that of a monster.
Yet that hideous mass of flesh, split open from the cheeks into a blooming flower of jagged teeth, trembled as though convulsing, while its human arms flailed desperately, crawling forward with all its might.
And the youth standing beside him, like a true monster, smiled faintly as he dragged the man back, then, as though soothing a child, pressed his hand to his abdomen and stroked him inch by inch as the man shuddered.
“Kill you... kill you... you madman...”
Feeling the pain in his stomach suddenly ebb away, as though the rabbit meat had truly been expelled, Ji Linmo lunged up at once, snatched the butterfly knife from the floor, and stabbed at Qin Feng.
But to his surprise, Qin Feng, even after being pierced through the abdomen, did not show the slightest expression of pain.
He slowly turned his head. Not a single drop of blood flowed from the wound.
“Ow, Mr. Ji, you’re so cruel~”
The youth looked at Ji Linmo without blinking and smiled brightly.
“You! What exactly... are you...”
Ji Linmo looked at Qin Feng in disbelief, then seemed to think of something. With a miserable laugh, he lowered his head.
“Hah... ha ha... I should have listened to Lin Bufei... That guy’s instincts were always sharp.”
“And I actually thought... your weirdness was just because of puberty...”
The words had barely fallen when Ji Linmo suddenly clamped down on Qin Feng’s shoulder, and with a wet, steaming breath, that blood-soaked maw surged to swallow the youth whole.
Rumble—
The entire mall shook violently at once, dust billowing everywhere.
[Soul grenade used successfully!]
[The soul of “Liu Xuanyan” has been destroyed!]
“Mom! Mom, I’m here!”
With a child’s cry from a little girl, the whole mall erupted with a deafening boom and collapsed in an instant.
Ji Linmo could not care about any of that. He shoved Qin Feng away, grabbed Lin Bufei, who had fallen in a corner, and dragged him to the strongest dead angle.
Lin Bufei had lost his parents early and had no relatives by his side.
So if he died, then he died.
“I’m sorry. I was the one who got you killed...”
Ji Linmo’s voice was low. Amid the sky collapsing and the earth splitting, amid everything crashing apart, he could not even manage to leave his friend an intact body.
Just then, something hard in his pocket suddenly jabbed against him.
The man reached into his pocket and saw the bottle Lin Bufei had given him: the removal potion.
[Bond-Severing Potion]
[Item Description: Upon use, forcibly remove all teammate bonds at once.]
Ji Linmo took out the potion in his hand and looked up at Qin Feng.
At that instant, seeing fear in the youth’s eyes, Ji Linmo gave a low laugh.
“Player Ji Linmo, sever bond with Qin Feng as teammate—”
In that instant, the youth went mad, rushing through the wreckage of broken walls and rubble as he shouted at him.
“No! I forbid it!”
“Ji Linmo, you can only be mine. Your life can only be mine!”
