Chapter 13: What Suits Me May Not Suit You

Parker found it difficult to calm his emotions at this moment. Among the heroes of the Marvel mainstream universe, he was one of the very few who possessed a truly "pure heart." Compared to other heroes who had their share of flaws, Peter Parker—the little Spider-Man—was almost a genuine "everyman hero," with the only exception being his vow never to kill. No one, not Iron Man, Captain America, or Doctor Strange, could compare to him. Since becoming a hero, he had continuously grown.
In the normal universe, the only mistake Parker ever made was failing to stop that robber who was stealing money. Because he didn’t stop that thief, his Uncle Ben died. This was an event he could never forget, and a mistake he had spent his life trying to amend.
The idea of resurrecting Uncle Ben was originally just a casual remark he made after hearing the so-called “waste prophet” Qin Wuxu describe the celestial peaches. Parker never truly hoped for Uncle Ben’s revival. Even Thor, the mighty god from Asgard, could not bring the dead back to life. But when he saw the group message sent by Jiang Wang, his usually calm heart was suddenly stirred into a tempest, almost causing him to fall from the tall building.
Clinging to the side of a skyscraper, Parker gazed at his reflection in the glass window. Who could truly know the desire that had always lived inside this hero’s heart?
“Resurrect Uncle Ben…” Parker muttered half aloud to his reflection, the other half echoing silently in his mind: Could such a thing really be done? Parker didn’t believe in resurrection. But if his wish could truly come true, who would care about old beliefs? Moreover, he had witnessed with his own eyes what the so-called waste prophet had done after consuming the celestial elixir granted by the gods.
In a matter of moments, she had slain several monsters many times her size. The most incredible part was that the final killing move was a gift from the elder Heavenly Master in their group. Even the Heavenly Master himself was amazed by her feat, admitting that even he could not compare to Qin Wuxu after she ingested the elixir.
One could imagine the immense power of that elixir. If such an external object could have such miraculous effects, what about the gods themselves?
Resurrecting Uncle Ben was no longer just a mere hope.
Parker clung to the side of the building, his expression bright with excitement.
“Great Immortal, please help me! I want to bring back my Uncle Ben. I am willing to pay any price!”

Peter Parker’s impulse suddenly erupted all at once.
Guardian of the Southern Heavenly Gate: “Pay any price? Is it really worth giving up everything for your Uncle Ben?”
Waste Prophet: “Parker, I strongly advise against resurrecting your Uncle Ben. The cycle of life and death is a fixed law of the world. What has passed is settled. Trying to change that will inevitably attract the attention of countless powerful beings. With your current strength, you cannot face those entities!”
…
Exhausted, Waste Prophet Qin Wuxu dragged herself back home. After casually sorting the items she had bought, she collapsed onto the sofa, her face still glowing with excitement. The power of the celestial elixir had caused her spiritual energy to surge explosively, enabling her to wield the Golden Light Spell as if divinely inspired, singlehandedly slaughtering multiple magical beasts!
One word: exhilarating!
The Great Immortal was truly incredible—not only did he unconditionally grant her a celestial elixir, but it was a supreme-grade one, allowing her to reverse death itself.
Qin Wuxu thought about this as she lay back on the sofa, savoring the moment when she had just displayed her divine might. But before long, she noticed a strange smell emanating from her body. It was foul and unbearable, causing her to frown deeply.
“What’s that smell?” she muttered, looking down.
Black impurities were oozing out all over her body—unknown substances that reeked terribly.
Without hesitation, Qin Wuxu rushed to the bathroom to wash it off. As she rinsed, she pondered what could have caused this.
Very soon, she understood the reason. Wasn’t it normal for a celestial elixir to cleanse and refine the meridians? There was nothing to be surprised about!
After finishing her bath, Qin Wuxu was astonished to find that her previous fatigue seemed to vanish instantly. Not only was her weariness gone, but an inexhaustible strength surged forth from within her body. The surrounding spiritual energy swirled around her joyfully, as if celebrating some accomplishment.
With a single thought, a vast amount of spiritual energy flowed into her.
Moments later, the energy circled inside her body and then flowed back out again.
“Can I now freely command the spiritual energy of heaven and earth?” Qin Wuxu’s face lit up with delight.
As long as she could use spiritual energy at will, she no longer needed to flee fearfully from magical beasts.
Excited, she quickly entered the chat group, eager to thank the Great Immortal.

Upon entering the group, she immediately saw Peter Parker, the little Spider-Man, foolishly dreaming of resurrecting his Uncle Ben.
Isn’t that just wishful thinking?
Although Qin Wuxu didn’t know much about the Marvel world, she was certain it was far more complex than it appeared. Death and souls were governed by many deities in the Marvel universe—Death itself, the Lords of Hell, and so forth. These beings absolutely forbade anyone who had died from being resurrected. Even Thanos, that purple tyrant, dared not try to snatch souls from Death or the Lords of Hell.
Let alone Parker.
Parker’s strength was hardly notable even on Earth. How could he compete with such terrifying entities for a soul?
Parker’s heartfelt plea in the chat group attracted the attention of many.
Golden Generation of the Martial Soul Hall: “Resurrection is a defiance of natural law. Little Spider, you shouldn’t dwell on it too much. Even if you sacrifice everything to bring back your loved one, but cannot truly reunite with them yourself, is it really worth it?”
Serpent Queen: “Agreed. Moreover, what is easy for the Great Immortal may not be so for you. Isn’t it better to live well in the present?”
Mosquito’s lifelong enemy: “Hmm, that may be true, but if there’s a chance to revive loved ones or comrades, I support Parker.”
Elder Heavenly Master: “The dead cannot return. My condolences.”
Little Spider: “I still want to try, @Guardian of the Southern Heavenly Gate, Great Immortal!”
Waste Prophet: “Little Spider, you cannot impose your wishes on the Great Immortal. Whether he helps you depends on his own will, not your pleas. Understand?”
Jiang Wang found it strange to see the Waste Prophet suddenly acting like a subordinate. He was puzzled.
He responded to Parker with one sentence.
Guardian of the Southern Heavenly Gate: “Don’t try anymore. None of the methods will work. The earlier methods depend on me, but I cannot enter your world, so they won’t work. The later methods depend on you, but your strength is insufficient, so they won’t work either.”
Jiang Wang had not deceived Peter Parker. He did have a way to bring people back to life in the Marvel world, but that method suited only him, not Parker.
But Parker, perched on the building, was not discouraged.
Little Spider: “Great Immortal, please help me! I am willing to pay any price to obtain an elixir that enhances my strength.”
