Ji Ci embraced Dongfang Yibai tightly. This little fox knew quite a lot, so he decided to keep it close, using its inner voice to learn things he himself did not know.

Unaware that his own thoughts had been leaked, Ji Ci gleefully mocked Dongfang Yibai, calling him a green-haired turtle!

“Bai Yi, return to the capital.”

Dongfang Yibai handed the little fox to Bai Yi and leisurely dressed himself nearby.

Bai Yi absentmindedly petted the little fox’s head. “General, where did you catch this little fox? It’s so obedient.”

Those words froze Ji Ci’s body.

Damn, she forgot to resist!

A normal wild fox would be trying to escape right now!

Ji Ci twisted her body, feigning an attempt to flee.

“I have to act, let Dongfang Yibai catch me so I have no choice but to stay by his side.”

Ji Ci chattered noisily, biting Bai Yi’s hand lightly—so gently that she didn’t even break the skin.

“You little beast dares to bite me!” Bai Yi promptly grabbed Ji Ci by the scruff of her neck, glaring fiercely.

“You’re the beast! Your whole family’s beasts!” Ji Ci kicked her legs in the air, chattering back.

“Enough, give her to me.” Dongfang Yibai took Ji Ci, smoothing her fur.

“Come back to my residence with me. If you have my food, you’ll have my broth too.”

Ji Ci’s eyes lit up, and she immediately nodded.

Bai Yi and Wang Feng watched in wonder.

“Where did you catch this little fox? It even understands human speech?”

Wang Feng said as he reached to pick up Ji Ci.

“Don’t touch me! You stink!” Ji Ci protested loudly, chattering in an unintelligible animal language.

Dongfang Yibai smiled and said, “Found her on the road. Also, one thing to tell you—I have no relation with the princess. This little fox is mine alone; she wasn’t caught for the princess. Don’t mention the princess in front of me again.”

Wang Feng agreed, “Whatever you say. But the emperor intends to marry you to the princess this time. Be prepared. If you have no intention of marrying her, you’d better find a way to stop the emperor’s plan quickly. Refusing the imperial edict is considered defiance.”

After the reminder, Wang Feng pulled Bai Yi to leave.

Dongfang Yibai noticed Ji Ci covering her nose with her paw—animals have keener senses of smell than humans, so Wang Feng and Bai Yi must have stunk up the place.

“You two, go wash up. Afterward, return to the capital,” Dongfang Yibai ordered.

“I don’t like bathing,” Wang Feng replied.

Without hesitation, Dongfang Yibai reached out, grabbed Wang Feng, tossed him up, and kicked him straight into the water.

The movement was swift and decisive, leaving no room for delay.

“Truly impressive!” Ji Ci’s eyes sparkled with stars.

Hearing Ji Ci’s praise, Dongfang Yibai felt a flicker of pride. He tilted his chin, as if accepting her compliment.

Bai Yi glanced over, then jumped into the water and immediately began undressing to bathe.

Both Bai Yi and Wang Feng were well-built.

All military men, each with defined abs. Though their faces were tanned, their bodies were remarkably fair.

Ji Ci’s fox eyes widened like copper coins—she saw Bai Yi and Wang Feng remove their shirts, water droplets rolling down the grooves of their muscles, sparkling under the sunlight.

[A system alert popped up: Adrenaline surge detected in host! Recommend calming down!]

“Calm down, my foot! This is something you'd pay to see in a post-apocalyptic world!”

Her paws trembled, and a drop of drool fell onto Dongfang Yibai’s sleeve.

Dongfang Yibai looked down, locking eyes with the silver-furred fox at his side.

“...You sure know how to enjoy yourself,” he sneered coldly, then wrapped her tightly in his cloak like a bundle and carried her toward his tent.

“What are you doing? I haven’t seen enough yet!” Ji Ci roared.

Free shows like this were rare! No one had ever undressed for her before!

“Go change your clothes,” Dongfang Yibai said quietly.

It sounded like he was talking to himself, but clearly meant for Ji Ci to hear.

Ji Ci’s ears twitched. Did Dongfang Yibai just say to change clothes?

In terms of physique and appearance, Dongfang Yibai was a perfect ten!

Better to watch him then!

Ji Ci immediately stopped struggling and obediently sat in Dongfang Yibai’s arms.

Inside the tent.

Dongfang Yibai did as he said—he removed his outer clothes, leaving only his underpants, then lay down holding Ji Ci.

“Rest for a while, little fox.”

He seemed exhausted and soon fell asleep.

Ji Ci slipped out from under the covers, resting her head against Dongfang Yibai’s.

“This poison is strange indeed—its effect can turn a person into an ice statue. Not even the post-apocalypse had such poison.”

The four-leaf clover on Ji Ci’s head glowed green, scanning Dongfang Yibai’s body. The scan indicated severe poisoning.

“No matter the poison, it’s no match for the invincible Ji Ci.”

Ji Ci placed her little paw on Dongfang Yibai’s head. His eyelashes twitched, and the corner of his mouth curled faintly.

He guessed right—the little fox could cure his poison.

Ji Ci’s paw radiated green light, gradually enveloping her small red body. Dongfang Yibai felt a continuous surge of vitality flowing into him.

His eyes snapped open and locked with Ji Ci’s small ones.

Ji Ci’s hand froze, then suddenly, fresh blood dripped from her pointed mouth.

Her body went limp as she lay down, her tiny head resting against Dongfang Yibai’s face.

The green light exploded suddenly, and Ji Ci’s body in Dongfang Yibai’s arms stretched and transformed—

[Warning! Energy overload! Forced transformation!]

Dongfang Yibai felt a weight in his chest as the once furry fox turned into a jade-skinned young woman, weakly lying across him.

The worst part—she wasn’t wearing any clothes.

Dongfang Yibai froze, unsure where to place his hands.

“Master, I washed thoroughly this time,” Bai Yi’s voice came from outside.

Dongfang Yibai immediately covered Ji Ci’s body with a blanket.

“Get out!” His voice was sharp with anger. He rarely lost his temper, so this outburst left Bai Yi bewildered.

“Yes, sir,” Bai Yi said, bowing.

“Go get a clean set of clothes,” Dongfang Yibai ordered.

Bai Yi nodded and shortly returned with a clean outfit for Dongfang Yibai.

“Leave it outside,” Dongfang Yibai said.

He moved behind the screen, picked up his clothes, and returned to Ji Ci’s side.

Only then did he dare to secretly study Ji Ci’s appearance.

Her crimson hair, like silk, spread across the bed, with a pair of fluffy fox ears poking through.

He stiffened his neck to look down, seeing her long eyelashes like feathers, skin nearly translucent and pale, her nose tinged with a faint rosy hue like a plum blossom fallen on snow, and her small cherry lips slightly parted. A red mole beneath her collarbone flickered subtly with her breathing.

Dongfang Yibai felt his heart pounding so fiercely it might burst from his chest.
