Chapter 42: Team Magma's Attack, Aerodactyl Resurrected!

After placing the purchased Aerodactyl Mega Stone into the system space, Zhang Feng felt a surge of joy in his heart!

As long as he managed to encounter an Aerodactyl later, capture it, and build a foundational level of affection, he would be able to obtain another Mega-Evolved Pokémon, which would inevitably skyboard his strength!

Still feeling delighted about successfully pulling off this bargain, Zhang Feng prepared to leave the Mauville Museum.

Right at that moment, however, a deafening explosion rang out, followed instantly by chaos erupting in the previously pristine fossil Pokémon enclosure!

The explosion had originated precisely from the habitat where the fossil Pokémon resided. Once the fences were blown apart, the startled fossil Pokémon immediately scattered and fled in all directions!

Even as fossil Pokémon, those tamed by the museum had long since lost their wild edge.

Seeing this, the staff inside the Mauville Museum panicked!

This was a fossil Pokémon enclosure built with countless efforts and resources from the museum. If all the fossil Pokémon were to escape, the museum would suffer catastrophic losses!

Bankruptcy might even be on the horizon!

With this realization, the researchers and staff immediately dispatched their own Pokémon to surround and recapture the runaways.

It was precisely at this moment that more than a dozen figures clad in bright red uniforms suddenly appeared!

"Team Magma on official business! All idlers and bystanders clear out immediately, or risk losing your lives!"

Hearing this and gazing at the leader, Zhang Feng wore a look of rather surprised disbelief.

"Seriously, why are all these idiots from Team Magma and Team Aqua so obsessed with attacking museums everywhere?"

Earlier in Rustboro City, Zhang Feng had run into Team Aqua Admin Amber attacking the museum, and now here he was witnessing Team Magma Admin Tabitha leading a raid on the Mauville City Museum?

Hadn't that fellow Ash already clashed with both of these organizations? How did he manage to cross paths with them yet again?

Could it be that the eventual resurrection of Groudon and Kyogre was somehow intrinsically linked to museums?

Just as Zhang Feng was pondering this, Tabitha's cold voice cut through his thoughts.

"Kid, if you aren't leaving, then stay here permanently!"

Seemingly irritated by Zhang Feng's reluctance to depart, the Team Magma Admin immediately tossed a Poké Ball into the air.

In a flash, a sturdy Camerupt materialized onto the scene!

"Ding-dong. Camerupt. Current attribute values are as follows:"

Pokémon: Camerupt
Level: 38
Ability: Magma Armor
Types: Fire, Ground
Potential: Purple
Bond Evolution: Unlocked (False - Locked)
Mega Evolution: Locked
Moves: Fissure, Eruption, Stomping Tantrum, Incinerate, Smokescreen, Earth Power, Take Down...

Truth be told, as expected of a Pokémon like Camerupt, it naturally learned Eruption—one of the most powerful Fire-type ultimate moves!

Initially, such a move could only be learned by legendary Pokémon and Typhlosion, but later on, Hoenn region's Fire-type Pokémon Camerupt and Torkoal were also added to the roster.

"Hey, hey, hey! Are all of you in Team Magma mentally deficient? Which eye of yours saw me wanting to pick a fight with you?"

After hurling a few curses of frustration, Zhang Feng helplessly reached for Milotic's Poké Ball.

There was no other choice—who asked this jerk Tabitha to summon his Camerupt right off the bat?

The next moment, a pristine and slender Milotic appeared directly before Tabitha and Camerupt.

To be honest, Zhang Feng had zero desire to meddle in the affairs of Team Aqua and Team Magma. After all, if he wanted to capture Groudon and Kyogre later on, he still needed these two villainous organizations to do all the heavy lifting!

Zhang Feng certainly didn't want to go tracking down the Red Orb and Blue Orb himself, only to end up hunted down by the Pokémon League and branded as a criminal.

The optimal strategy by far was to leverage the power of these two major syndicates. Later on, when Groudon and Kyogre engaged in their massive war, Zhang Feng could descend upon the scene as a hero, using Rayquaza's might to subdue both legendary beasts!

That way, he could reap the spoils without doing the dirty work, avoid the hostility of the Pokémon League, and successfully capture two legendary beasts as his personal assets. It was an absolute masterstroke of killing two birds with one stone!

Who could have predicted that while Zhang Feng wished to steer clear of conflicts with them, the admins of Team Aqua and Team Magma always seemed stubbornly fixated on targeting him? How utterly infuriating!

"Brat, you dare insult Team Magma? You're finished! Camerupt, use Flamethrower!"

Upon Tabitha's command, Camerupt stomped the ground with a restless rumble, unleashing an instant torrent of scorching flames!

"Milotic, use Surf! Teach this ignorant fool a harsh lesson!"

Fueled by his accumulated grievances toward Team Aqua and Team Magma, Zhang Feng was bursting with anger and immediately deployed one of his primary powerhouses, Milotic!

Sensing the displeasure in her Trainer's tone through the command, Milotic let out a fierce cry.

A terrifying column of water surged forth instantly, colliding head-on with Camerupt's Flamethrower!

The violent clash between fire and water immediately generated thick billows of steam that flooded the entire floor of the museum, obscuring everyone's vision.

Before long, however, Milotic's overwhelming power extinguished the flames. The unrelenting Surf attack slammed directly into Camerupt's body with devastating force!

Suffering fourfold damage from the Water-type move, Camerupt collapsed instantly to the ground, unable to rise again!

"Ding-dong. Milotic defeated Camerupt. Gained 412 experience points. Level up! Current level: Lv. 44!"

Having knocked out Tabitha's Camerupt, the Team Magma Admin's face turned a comical shade of bruised purple.

He had never imagined that a random Trainer he happened to cross paths with would possess such formidable strength, defeating his primary Pokémon with a single strike!

He had originally intended to put on a grand display of Team Magma's might. Now look at what happened—he had turned into a textbook example of failure!

Just as Tabitha was about to send out another Pokémon, a Team Magma grunt hurriedly rushed over to his side and whispered something in his ear.

Upon receiving the news, Tabitha's expression instantly lit up with glee.

"We've got the item. Fall back!"

With that parting remark, Tabitha threw a vicious glare at Zhang Feng.

"Consider yourself lucky today, kid!"

Simultaneously, a research doctor dashed downstairs, screaming in utter panic:

"This is terrible! The fossil resurrection machine has been stolen by Team Magma, and the Aerodactyl currently undergoing resurrection has broken out and is going on a rampage inside the museum!"
