Chapter Thirty-Nine: Leaving the Tribe
For ten consecutive days, all the beastmen remained holed up in their cave. Leng Xiu and Leng Xiao took turns standing guard at the entrance, listening for any movement outside.
She glanced around, seeing no one, then turned and walked toward the door. Stepping out into the courtyard, she wove her way through the crabapple trees.
"I asked you to do one simple thing, and you failed! What exactly are you good for?!" Zhou Xumeng roared.
It was no wonder he could turn Chu Cimi’s world upside down; these catchy, memorable slogans were something no one had ever thought of before.
It was not easy, and amidst repeated failures, such progress was often difficult to perceive.
Unexpectedly, the ghost messenger said they both had the aptitude to become spirit-expellers. However, there was a rule for new recruits: they had to offer one of their souls in exchange.
For a moment, Zhou Linyao did not know how to answer her question, so he remained silent.
Although Physician Liu could not immediately identify the ingredients by the scent of the medicine, he had lived in the courtyard for a long time and was familiar with the aroma of every herb. He knew the composition and scent of Mu Shaochen’s decoction very well, so he immediately smelled that something was amiss. He did not think too much of it, however, and simply asked a casual question.
After a long silence, Wu Moqi wiped her aching eyes and looked at him, finding his expression quite solemn.
Tang Zhongyi was baffled by Lu Duo’er’s visit to the prison; he had humiliated her, so there was no reason for her to be kind enough to see him.
I took out my phone and saw a message from Xu Youqing: "Don’t worry about me. Keep a close eye on that man; something is about to happen."
"If you had shown such initiative and courage earlier, Mother wouldn't have worried about you," Lady Hua said, her face filled with gratification.
I snapped my eyes open to find that his upper body had transformed into a human form, while his lower body remained a deep, dark purple snake tail. His tail had been struck by the Green Scorpion poison, making even the slightest movement a struggle.
Without waiting for Lu Ban’s consent, Du Feng summoned a dagger and began carving the ends of the staff.
"Yuan Yali, who do you think you are to talk to me like that?" Yuan Houji could no longer restrain himself and bellowed.
Old Jiang was full of vigor, as if in that very moment, he had regained his youth by more than a dozen years.
Turning around, she saw Ji Beibei hugging the coffin, standing guard beside the patient’s casket while the patient’s family members surrounded her, muttering something.
From the image conjured by Hun Wuji’s fingers, Ling Feng noticed a corner that looked very much like the place where Jian Ye had first appeared. However, the five mountain peaks there had vanished, leaving only their rough outlines behind.
The City Source Eye was the spiritual hub of a city. Although spiritual energy on Earth was pitifully scarce now, most City Source Eyes still contained at least a trace of it.
As the voice faded, the long blade on his back emitted a cold glint before landing firmly in Luo Feng’s hand.
"Yes! I understand!" As soon as the mission was mentioned, Kimimaro immediately adopted a serious expression.
Then, with Lisa’s help, they prepared to quickly eliminate the enemies in front. The commotion at the back mountain was so great that it could be heard clearly even from such a distance; the force of those beasts’ charge was absolute, and it was likely they would devour the entire castle in an instant.
Xu Ding and Li Li looked toward the sound and were both stunned. Li Li, in particular, narrowed his eyes, appearing lost in thought.
It was a pity that malevolent energy turned people who were once sane into walking corpses driven by desire, leading them to commit acts that the world could not comprehend. This was why the duty of a Sea Clan priest was to destroy those anomalous spirits that brought chaos to the world.
