Chapter 120: Class Reunion

While stirring the soup in Shen Ruizhang's bowl, she felt a gaze land upon her. Confused, she looked toward the window.

Noticing this, Shen Ruizhang asked, "What's wrong?"

Jiang Yunzhou glanced at the green plants outside the window, then turned back and said, "It's nothing. Perhaps I'm just being too sensitive."

There was no one outside.

Shen Ruizhang followed her gaze. Seeing nothing, he said with a smile, "You've worked so hard taking care of me lately. Why don't you take a good rest for the next couple of days and let the servants handle the rest, how about that?"

Jiang Yunzhou shook her head. "It's fine. This little bit of work is nothing."

Besides, Shen Ruizhang's injuries had been sustained because of her. If he hadn't shielded her, she might have lost her life.

She knew he was her savior. Even though their relationship was on the verge of collapsing, she truly owed him for this act of grace.

Shen Ruizhang reached out and pressed his hand over hers, but Jiang Yunzhou quickly pulled back.

She then saw his eyes fill with disappointment as he looked at her.

Jiang Yunzhou parted her lips. "I'm sorry. I... I was just lost in thought."

This time, when Shen Ruizhang took her hand, she did not pull away.

"Stop fussing over me and sit down to eat together. If I eat alone while you stand there, anyone else would think you're my servant!"

Jiang Yunzhou murmured an agreement and turned back to the kitchen. After a moment of silence, she picked up her phone and looked at it, only to unexpectedly see a message from Shen Tingxiao, who had consistently ignored her messages before.

She quickly opened it. It contained only a single line: *I've come to find you.*

Jiang Yunzhou's eyes widened. She rushed out of the kitchen immediately. Under Shen Ruizhang's puzzled gaze, she opened the front door and looked around the villa entrance, but there was not a soul in sight, let alone Shen Tingxiao.

Her expression fell, her face turning pale and tense.

"Liar," she whispered.

Disappointed, Jiang Yunzhou returned to the villa. Shen Ruizhang had stood up the moment she left, but before he could follow her, she was already back.

"Zhouzhou, what's wrong?" he asked with concern.

Snapping out of her thoughts, Jiang Yunzhou realized she had lost her composure and quickly forced a stiff smile.

"It's nothing. I thought I heard something just now, so I went out to check. It turned out to be my imagination; there was nothing there."

Shen Ruizhang looked at her with deep suspicion. "Really?"

Jiang Yunzhou nodded again. "Really."

Shen Ruizhang's expression darkened slightly, but seeing the look on her face, he let out a helpless sigh.

"Then why do you look so sad? Zhouzhou, if you don't want to smile, you don't have to. I'm not forcing you to smile at me."

Jiang Yunzhou froze. She hadn't realized her emotions were so obvious that he would notice immediately. Just as she was at a loss for words, her phone suddenly rang.

Relieved, she pointed to her phone. "I'll go take this call first."

With that, she eagerly escaped the dining room and went into the kitchen.

Upon answering, she recognized the voice of a high school classmate. They were organizing a class reunion and hoped she could attend.

It had been a long time since Jiang Yunzhou had seen her old classmates. She wasn't particularly eager to meet them, but wanting to escape Shen Ruizhang's gaze for a while, she agreed.

"Who was that?"

The moment she stepped out, she heard Shen Ruizhang's questioning tone. His eyes were filled with vigilance, as if he were worried about something.

Jiang Yunzhou didn't think too much of it and directly told him about the high school reunion.

Only then did Shen Ruizhang ease up. He smiled and said, "Since you want to go, then you should. I've noticed you've been so busy lately you haven't had any time for yourself. You really do need to go out and get some fresh air."

Jiang Yunzhou smiled faintly and continued to eat with him, both of them tacitly moving past the earlier tension.

On the day of the reunion, Jiang Yunzhou dressed up simply in a casual dress and headed out.

Hesitantly, she asked, "Class Monitor?"

Jiang Yunzhou smiled along with him. "Sorry, I'm late."

"Not at all, we just arrived too early!"
