Chapter 112: The Thief Crying "Stop Thief"
Ye Zemao pressed his aching head, his expression turning grim as the feverish images from moments ago flashed through his mind.
His silence was as good as a confession.
Yang Lan felt a wave of dizziness. Steadying herself, she immediately changed her tune, "Impossible. The women in the capital begging to marry Zemao could line up all the way to the Great Wall. Why would he ever force himself on you? You must have seduced him first, and when he didn't take the bait, you staged this whole show to play the victim!"
"Mrs. Ye, don't twist the truth. It was clearly the Third Young Master who tried to force himself on me. How can you invert right and wrong like this?" In a flurry, the woman found her phone and immediately dialed the police, determined to prevent Yang Lan from pulling any tricks.
As she dialed the emergency number, Yang Lan lunged forward to snatch the phone. The woman quickly shrieked, "Mrs. Ye, if you dare touch my phone, I'll sue you right along with him!"
Yang Lan took a deep breath and scanned the room. Realizing there were no surveillance cameras in the dressing room, the corners of her mouth curled up in a faint smirk.
She sneered, "There isn't even a camera here. How are you going to prove this wasn't consensual?"
Yang Lan had deliberately chosen her words to avoid giving the woman any leverage.
The woman's gaze fell upon Ye Zemao's open collar, specifically the scratch marks her nails had left across his chest.
Following her gaze, Yang Lan raised an eyebrow. She stepped forward and began fastening the buttons of Ye Zemao's shirt, one by one.
Suddenly, a camera flash flared from outside the door.
Instinctively shielding Ye Zemao, Yang Lan glared at the waiter who had suddenly appeared and barked, "Do you have no manners? Photography is strictly forbidden inside the venue! Hand over your phone and delete whatever you just took!"
The waiter and the woman exchanged a quick glance, the corners of their mouths curving into a barely perceptible smirk.
He extended the phone toward Yang Lan with a dry chuckle. "Mrs. Ye, I recorded everything the Third Young Master just did to this lady. She isn't lying. The Third Young Master indeed... tried to assault her. If I hand this video over to the police, I'm afraid the Third Young Master will..."
"Cut to the chase. How much money do you want?" Yang Lan cast a dismissive glance at the waiter before looking at the disheveled woman. She had a pretty good idea that the two were setting a honey trap for Ye Zemao.
"You misunderstand. I'm really not doing this for money," the waiter said, his gaze turning cold as he looked at Yang Lan.
"I will definitely press charges against the Third Young Master. I want the law to punish a scumbag like him!" The woman glared at Ye Zemao, her eyes burning with hatred.
Hearing their words, Yang Lan felt a massive headache coming on.
Ye Zemao was clearly not in his right mind. He looked dazed, yet his eyes burned with fury as he stared at the woman.
Yang Lan would have to be a fool not to realize that Ye Zemao must have been drugged while he was chatting with this woman earlier.
As for what kind of drug it was, that would have to be investigated later.
With this in mind, Yang Lan grabbed Ye Zemao by the wrist and pulled him toward the door.
The woman quickly adjusted her disheveled clothes, rushed forward, and clung tightly to Ye Zemao's leg, weeping hysterically. "Don't even think about running! The police will be here any second!"
The waiter quickly stepped forward, blocking their path with outstretched arms. "You hurt this lady. You can't leave until the police arrive and get to the bottom of this!"
"And what if I insist on leaving?"
Yang Lan's gaze turned vicious. Staring coldly at the waiter blocking her path, she lost her temper, raised her hand, and slapped him hard across the face. As luck would have it, just as her hand made contact, another camera flash went off. The blinding light made her squint.
Through the glare, she could vaguely make out a highly familiar figure walking toward them.
