Chapter 122: Had a falling out?

Lu Yao realized...
Whenever she had a falling out with Ye Zehong, the sky would unfailingly open up in a heavy downpour, drenching her thoroughly.
She had just returned to the villa when Zhou Luoxi hurriedly handed her a dry towel, concern lacing his voice. "It’s pouring rain, and you didn’t even tell me to pick you up. If you catch a cold from the rain, you’ll be miserable with a fever for weeks. Without me by your side, you don’t even know how to take care of yourself."
He added, “By the way, were you with that Ye guy tonight?”
“He’s so smitten with you, why would he let you get caught in the rain?”
Lu Yao frowned, letting Zhou Luoxi chatter on as he gently dried her dripping hair with the towel.
Zhou Luoxi was truly tender and doting toward her, like a warm-hearted father figure, offering the love she had always lacked.
Her mind echoed Ye Zehong’s words, causing her heart to twist sharply.
Did she harbor feelings for Zhou Luoxi beyond mere sibling affection?
His question caught her off guard, leaving her suddenly bewildered.
For over a decade, she and Zhou Luoxi had grown up together, from childhood to adulthood, accustomed to having each other in their lives.
She had never truly pondered what kind of feelings she held for him.

She sighed softly; the more she tried to understand, the more confused she became.
Noticing her sour mood, Zhou Luoxi asked with concern, “Did you argue with Ye?”
Lu Yao fell silent.
Her silence spoke volumes to him.
“Yao, whether you admit it or not, you no longer belong here. No matter how much you struggle or delay, you have to go back. Even if I let you live your own way here, K won’t let you off easily. You know well enough that with just the two of us, we can’t stand up to K, and there’s no need to drag things out until we’re both hurt.” Zhou Luoxi didn’t want to dampen her spirits but had no choice. “Unless you want to drag Ye Zehong down with us.”
Biting her lip, Lu Yao said nothing, her eyes reddening as she stared at the floor, her mind in turmoil.
After a long pause, she finally spoke slowly, “ALL, help me look someone up. I need to meet her tomorrow, it’s urgent.”
Zhou Luoxi immediately wore a hurt expression, clutching his chest and staring at Lu Yao with mock sorrow. “Yao, you have no heart. You’re such a terrible woman! I just said so much, and all you can think about is the case.”
Lu Yao grabbed the dry towel, pushing his hand away as she urged, “It really is urgent. I need it by dawn. Hurry, please...”
There was nothing Zhou Luoxi could do but obey and help her with the search.
Using the organization’s system, it took less than ten minutes to thoroughly uncover Sun Ying’s background.
Lu Yao skimmed through the dossier sent from the organization with rapid, practiced eyes.

She quickly pinpointed crucial details that would be highly advantageous for the upcoming interrogation.
Grinning, she grabbed Zhou Luoxi’s hand. “This is perfect. ALL, I knew you’d come through.”
“Don’t thank me just yet. It’s already past three in the morning. Go wash up and get some sleep. Young ladies shouldn’t stay up late—it damages your skin and causes wrinkles. If you turn from a little fairy into an old fairy, you’ll have no one to blame but yourself.”
“Got it, hehe…”
Lu Yao returned to her room in a joyful mood.
The moment the door closed behind her, the smile on Zhou Luoxi’s face vanished instantly.
He pulled out his phone, eyes burning with a ruthless glare as he stared fixedly at the photo of Lu Yao and Ye Zehong secretly meeting in the car.
His Yao belonged only to him. Whoever dared to take her away would pay with their life!
