The voice startled Chu Han. It unmistakably belonged to Duanmu Meng'er, whom he had parted from only a short while ago. He had never expected her to come all the way here. They had spent quite some time together, so there was no way he could have mistaken her.

The person standing there was indeed Duanmu Meng'er. She wore a long pink dress and clutched something tightly in her hand, her eyes filled with killing intent as she glared at the two men before her.

Naturally, the object in her hand was what they wanted. She had gone to great lengths to obtain it and would never hand it over so easily. Yet her opponents were both formidable. If they fought, the outcome was uncertain—but even so, she would never surrender without a fight.

“Haha, in that case, I won’t hold back. What a pretty little thing. Wang Tian, let’s move.”

The leader threw back his head and laughed. Both men wore gray robes embroidered with black scorpions—the emblem of the Scorpio Sect.

One was named Lu Fang and the other Wang Tian. Both were among the top fifty experts on the Little King Ranking, ranked thirty-seventh and fortieth respectively. They were genuine masters.

The two attacked together, and Duanmu Meng'er prepared to counter. But at that critical instant, a bolt of lightning descended from the sky. Lu Fang and Wang Tian were startled and hurriedly retreated, while the lightning blasted a huge crater into the ground.

As the lightning dissipated, a man in a black robe rose to his feet. A mask covered his face, making his features impossible to discern. It was Chu Han. He had not intended to interfere, but after realizing that the person being bullied was Duanmu Meng'er, he had no choice but to step in.

“Who are you? You dare meddle in the affairs of the Scorpio Sect? Are you tired of living? I’ll give you one chance to leave. Don’t try to play the hero and save the beauty, or you may end up losing your own life.”

Lu Fang let out a cold snort and mocked him loudly.

Chu Han ignored them completely. Instead, he turned to Duanmu Meng'er and asked, “Are you all right?”

“Why did you save me? Who are you?”

Duanmu Meng'er had not recognized him. Only then did Chu Han remember that he had disguised his appearance. He gave an embarrassed laugh, removed his mask and took off his hat, revealing his true face.

Duanmu Meng'er was startled when she saw him. She had never expected Chu Han to save her once again by such a coincidence. Tears nearly filled her eyes, but she forcibly held them back.

“Why are you here? Thank you. You saved me again.”

Duanmu Meng'er smiled faintly. Now that Chu Han was here, she had nothing to fear. The two of them would have no trouble dealing with Lu Fang and Wang Tian together.

“We’ll talk later. Let’s deal with these two first. Stay here and wait. Leave them to me.”

Chu Han gently patted her on the head and smiled. The familiar gesture made his expression grow distant. He had treated Liu Qingli the same way before, though he wondered how that girl was doing now.

It was also the first time Chu Han had made such an intimate gesture toward Duanmu Meng'er. She froze for a moment but did not reject him, nor did she feel particularly uncomfortable. To her, that was simply unbelievable.

“Don’t force yourself. They’re both among the top fifty on the Little King Ranking. We should fight them together. You can’t handle them alone.”

Duanmu Meng'er spoke softly. Although she was injured, she was still capable of fighting. Her opponents were both experts, and it would be too dangerous for Chu Han to face them by himself.

Chu Han paused at her words, then broke into an excited smile. He had long wanted to fight an expert from the Little King Ranking, and this was the perfect opportunity.

“Don’t worry. You’re injured, so concentrate on recovering. Take this. I’ll deal with them both. Don’t worry—I won’t act recklessly.”

With a faint smile, Chu Han helped her sit down and then took out a Super Recovery Pill and handed it to her.

Seeing his confidence, Duanmu Meng'er found nothing more to say. She swallowed the Super Recovery Pill and sat there, recovering her injuries and strength.

“All right, are you finished discussing things? Which one of you is going to die first?”

Lu Fang had not interrupted their conversation and had heard every word. When he heard that Chu Han intended to fight them both alone, he became furious. Chu Han was clearly looking down on them.

“You two are among the top fifty on the Little King Ranking?”

Chu Han stretched his body, producing a series of cracking sounds. Lightning once again coiled around him, hissing and snapping.

At that moment, the expressions of Lu Fang and Wang Tian changed. Chu Han’s face seemed vaguely familiar, but neither of them could immediately remember where they had seen him.

“Wait, Lu Fang. Isn’t this the wanted man? He killed a great many people in the treasure vault. Even our master died at his hands.”

Wang Tian finally remembered Chu Han’s identity. Chu Han was startled as well. He had never expected that some of the people he had killed in the treasure vault would belong to the Scorpio Sect. What a coincidence.

“Pay for my master’s life! I’m killing you today!”

After Wang Tian reminded him, Lu Fang recognized Chu Han too. He flew into a rage, raised his weapon and charged forward. Wang Tian followed close behind.

Chu Han did not dare to be careless. The true energy they released and the attacks they launched were enough to prove that both men were experts. He watched them intently. Just as they reached him, he suddenly vanished from the spot, causing them to charge into empty air.

Then Chu Han descended from above, driving his fist straight downward. Lu Fang and Wang Tian were no pushovers, however. They halted themselves mid-stride and raised their weapons to block Chu Han’s punch. The three men became locked in a stalemate.

But they could not compete with Chu Han’s strength. The tremendous force caused the earth beneath their feet to crack, and before long, they were on the verge of collapse.

“Wind Pressure!”

Wang Tian shouted. A blast of compressed wind shot directly toward Chu Han’s chest.

Facing the attack, Chu Han quickly descended to the ground and evaded it, allowing Lu Fang and Wang Tian to break free.

“Wind Pressure Explosion!”

The two men shouted together. Wang Tian extended his right hand and unleashed another blast of compressed wind, while Lu Fang concealed a fire-based attack within it. The wind pressure turned scarlet, creating a bizarre sight.

Chu Han dared not let his guard down either. He shouted, “Hundred Lightning Flash!”

As his voice fell, he thrust out his right hand. Several bolts of lightning, each as thick as an arm, descended from the sky and struck the mass of compressed wind. A violent explosion erupted at once, burning the surrounding trees to ash and filling the area with smoke and dust.

When the smoke cleared, Lu Fang and Wang Tian had retreated several steps to avoid the blast. They anxiously stared ahead, wondering whether Chu Han and Duanmu Meng'er had survived.

Yet Chu Han was still standing where he had been, shielding Duanmu Meng'er behind him. The enormous explosion had only torn his clothes slightly; his body was completely unharmed. His astonishing defensive ability left Lu Fang and Wang Tian in a difficult position.

“Thunderous Strike!”

Chu Han shouted. Their attacks were powerful, and he could not afford to drag the battle out any longer. Otherwise, the outcome might become impossible to predict.

Lightning wrapped around his body as he charged straight toward the two men. His speed was astonishing. They saw only a streak of lightning before Chu Han appeared in front of them.

They did not have time to react. Lu Fang was struck directly in the stomach by the lightning and sent flying. His body was simultaneously bound by crackling arcs of electricity, leaving him unable to move.

At the same time, Wang Tian was startled and hurriedly retreated. But Chu Han had no intention of giving him the chance. Just as he was about to launch another attack, a deafening roar rang out from nearby. The roar shook apart the true energy Chu Han had just gathered.
