However, he felt extremely insecure staying here. He had no idea where he was, and if an enemy were to seize this opportunity, it would be dangerous—especially considering he had no shortage of enemies. There were the distant Wolf Tribe and the many people he had offended in the Eastern Wilderness of the Capital, and closer to home, the various sects of the Central City and the newly admitted outer disciples of the Taiyi Sect.

Moreover, he had been at the Taiyi Sect’s cultivation mountain before losing consciousness. How could such a place exist on that mountain? He was deeply confused.

A moment later, the door creaked open. Chu Han quickly shut his eyes, feigning sleep. He wanted to see who this person was and what they intended to do.

A figure slowly entered, accompanied by a faint, clean fragrance. The person first picked up a towel to wipe his face, then took a bowl of something—he couldn't tell what—and fed it to him.

"Why haven't you woken up yet? It's been three days. If you don't wake up soon, I'll run out of herbs, and I won't be able to go up the mountain to pick more."

It was a woman’s voice—very gentle, yet laced with anxiety. She didn't seem like an enemy. Relieved, Chu Han opened his eyes.

Before him stood a beautiful young woman. Though she wore simple, coarse cloth robes, they could not hide her proud figure or delicate features. Her brow was creased with a touch of sorrow.

"Oh! You're awake! How do you feel? Are you in any pain?"

Seeing his eyes open, the girl exclaimed in surprise. It seemed she had been caring for him for quite some time. Chu Han felt a flicker of gratitude, yet he remained puzzled as to how he had ended up here.

"Where is this? How did I get here?"

Chu Han spoke, his voice hoarse. He was severely injured; it was a miracle he was still alive. He had already checked his mind—the system was at fifteen percent. It appeared he had used the "Undying System" ability to save his life.

Thinking of this, a lingering fear gripped him. That lightning strike was terrifying; it had hit him directly in the heart. One wrong move and he would have perished. Had it not been for the Undying System, he would surely be dead.

"Actually, I don't know either. I was up on the mountain picking herbs that day when I saw you lying on the ground halfway up the slope. At first, I thought you were dead, and I was terrified. But when I walked over, I saw you were still breathing, so I dragged you back. You were so heavy; it took me all day to get you here."

The girl frowned, looking quite adorable as she spoke. Chu Han couldn't help but chuckle inwardly; she was certainly an interesting person.

"This is Wolf Mountain. As for why you were here, I have no idea. You were lying right at the boundary between Wolf Mountain and the Taiyi Sect's cultivation mountain. You must be from the Taiyi Sect, right?"

The girl spoke again, explaining their location. Chu Han was stunned. It seemed there were many things about the Taiyi Sect he didn't know. He had assumed the entire cultivation mountain was under the jurisdiction of the Taiyi Sect, never imagining it bordered another mountain range. He must have been blown away by the lightning force and landed on Wolf Mountain, only to be found by this girl.

Suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over him, and Chu Han lost consciousness once more.

Seven days passed in a flash. Through the girl’s meticulous care, his body had recovered significantly, and he had learned much about both his surroundings and her.

The girl’s name was Zhang Yuxi. Having lost her parents at a young age, she had been adopted by a master who lived here. She had spent her entire life in this place and had never ventured out. After her master passed away, she lived here alone. She didn't even know her own age, though she appeared to be a few years younger than Chu Han.

Wolf Mountain was a range not far from the Central City, bordering the Taiyi Sect’s cultivation grounds. It was barren, so few people ever visited. Besides the wild beasts, Zhang Yuxi was the only human living there.

There were no high-level beasts, only low-level ones. She survived for years by gathering wild fruits and herbs. She had long grown accustomed to this life and had no desire to leave.

Over these seven days, with the help of his own medicinal pills and the local herbs, his true energy had mostly recovered, allowing him to fight again, though he still needed to nurse some internal injuries. The two had grown from strangers into friends.

During these days, he often accompanied Zhang Yuxi to gather herbs. He discovered she had a unique talent: she could communicate with low-level beasts and animals. Perhaps it was a gift developed from living here for so long.

"Brother Chu, look what I brought back! Thick-浆 berries! We can make berry soup tonight, haha!"

Chu Han was busy chopping wood, planning to repair the girl’s cabin, when he saw Zhang Yuxi running back, happily clutching a pile of fruit. He smiled faintly.

Zhang Yuxi was innocent and worldly-wise, like a blank sheet of paper—pure and kind. This was the first time he had met someone like her; she gave him a sense of warmth and sincerity.

However, as Chu Han watched her approach with a smile, he suddenly froze, his face turning pale. Behind her followed something else.

"Yuxi, watch out!"

Chu Han roared. A flash of lightning streaked across the air as he appeared behind Zhang Yuxi. At that moment, a massive white wolf lunged at him, its giant claws swiping down with ferocious force.

Without hesitation, he blocked the strike. Because of his lingering internal injuries, he struggled to withstand the wolf's immense power. Zhang Yuxi turned around, her face draining of color in terror, frozen in place.

"Run!"

Chu Han managed to squeeze out the word. Zhang Yuxi hurriedly nodded and scrambled into the enclosure of the small wooden hut, watching him and the giant wolf with wide, worried eyes.

Chu Han was surprised. A beast of this size had to be at least Level 4. He had explored Wolf Mountain and found only weak, Level 1 creatures. Where had this beast come from?

But there was no time to think. The white wolf charged again, its massive claws raking toward him. It opened its blood-stained maw, releasing a stench so foul it nearly made Chu Han vomit.

Chu Han leaped backward, dodging the attack. Blue lightning swirled around his body, and as he coated his fist in electricity, he struck the white wolf on the head. The beast let out a pained howl and collapsed to the ground.

Although he was injured, the wolf didn't seem particularly intelligent or strong. However, his punch hadn't killed it. The wolf stood up, howling at him; its forehead was charred black from his lightning power.

Chu Han remembered the "Thunder Seal" technique he had just learned. This was the perfect chance to test it. Enraged by the blow, the wolf lunged at him again.

Using his speed to dodge, Chu Han began to weave the hand seals.
