Chapter 150: Poison Gas
Hey! Figure out what's going on! We are here to save you," Baimu grabbed Sara's hand and shouted.
"You killed my maid the moment you came in, and you call this saving me?! Let go! You're hurting me!" Sara struggled fiercely.
"What maid? That's a wooden puppet! If you cut a real person's head off, blood would be all over your face!" Baimu pointed at the corpse on the ground. The cut at the neck was completely smooth without a single drop of blood.
Baki used a wind blade to slice open their clothes, and as expected, it was just a wooden shell covered with a layer of synthetic skin.
"What..." Sara was stunned as she looked at the corpse on the ground. How could a maid who had served her for years be a puppet?
"You silly girl, you've been tricked by Anrokusan. There are no living people left openly in the entire city of Loulan. You are the very last one. If you couldn't open the Dragon Vein seal, you probably would have been taken along to enjoy the blessing," Baimu began to explain the truth.
"What... What are you talking about! How is that possible! I see everyone happily parading in the streets every day, how could there be no living people?" Sara shook her head, refusing to believe Baimu's words at all.
Baimu pointed at the puppet on the ground: "The people of Loulan you see are all puppets like this. Oh no, they are even cruder and don't even have camouflage skin."
"Are you kidding me? There are tens of thousands of people in Loulan, how could they turn into puppets?" Sara still didn't believe it.
"I never joke. If you don't believe me, you can come outside with us. There is a secret room out there containing the skin puppets of all your Loulan ministers. Anrokusan did this." Baimu looked straight into Sara's eyes, full of sincerity.
"Why waste words with her? Just throw her out on the street to see for herself," Yura said impatiently.
Baimu rolled his eyes. If he weren't trying to woo her, he would have hoisted her over his shoulder and ran off long ago; he wouldn't need her suggestions.
"Uncle Anrokusan... That's impossible..." Sara knitted her brows, truly unwilling to give up until she hit a brick wall.
Baimu sighed and was just about to resort to force.
Boom, boom, boom, boom!
Thick metal walls on all four sides dropped heavily down along the walls, shaking the room violently. Pale green mist spewed from the corners of the ceiling, quickly lingering near the roof, and it wouldn't take long for it to fill the entire room.
"Oh ho..." Baimu knew with his heels that whatever happened next definitely wasn't Anrokusan kindly dropping some sleeping gas to help him end his single life.
"Poison gas!!" As a half-baked medical ninja, Nonou was certain this was a neurotoxin.
"Duh! Everyone knows this is poison!" Baki concentrated cyan light in his wind blade and slashed it against the iron wall, leaving only a shallow cut, and judging by the echo of the iron wall, it was at least ten centimeters thick.
If even Wind Release, which was best at cutting, could only do that, it had to be premium steel grade. No wonder Anrokusan let them walk all the way through without any obstacles—the trump card was right here!
"Now you know. We certainly didn't set up the traps here, did we? Looks like Anrokusan wants to kill even you," Baimu stood up and walked toward the corner.
"Uncle... Anrokusan..." Sara stared blankly at the photo of herself and Anrokusan on the table. Anrokusan was smiling so gently, how could it be...
"Hey, what are you doing!" Yura saw Baimu actually taking off his pants.
"Haven't you ever seen this? You wet a piece of cloth and use it as a gas mask!" Baimu was urinating directly into the corner of the wall.
"I know... a damp cloth can provide preliminary filtration of poison gas and help people hold on longer. During the Second World War, when facing Hanzo of the Salamander's poison gas, many people who used this method survived, but they used water..." Nonou searched the room several times but couldn't find a water kettle because the living area in the bedroom had also been sealed off by the iron wall.
"I... I'd rather die!" Yura knitted her brows and kicked the iron wall with chakra-infused force, but unfortunately, the heavy iron wall didn't even shake.
Baki was a man after all, and wasn't so squeamish. He tore off a bedsheet and followed Baimu's example by urinating in the corner.
"You..." Nonou had suffered through all sorts of hardships in Root as a child and didn't mind such crude methods, but making her take off her pants right now...
"What?" Baimu wore a mischievous grin: "Do you want me to share some with you?"
Nonou gritted her teeth, threw caution to the wind, and nodded.
Yura was also a bit hesitant, but life was always more important than pride. Since everyone else was doing it...
She looked at Baki, the married older man, and then at Baimu, the fair and tender virgin... Naturally, the younger boy's was easier to accept.
"Give me one too!" Yura gritted her teeth and reached out toward Baimu.
"Oh ho, not looking down on me this time?" Baimu pinched the corner of the cloth and handed it over.
Yura pinched the corner of the cloth with her fingertips, feeling as though touching it would rot her hand. The thought of putting it over her face a moment later gave her goosebumps all over.
"Karin, do you want some?" Baimu didn't forget to save a portion for his daughter.
"Why don't you guys ask if I brought any water with me?" Karin tilted her head and winked playfully.
"Did you bring water?!" Yura asked anxiously. If they could use clean water, who would use urine!
"No, you guys drank all the water." Karin spread her hands.
Yura gritted her teeth in exasperation.
"Then why didn't you ask if I brought a gas mask?" Karin flashed another mischievous grin.
"That's right! You came from the future, you must have known there would be poison gas here. I definitely made you bring a gas mask!" Baimu's eyes lit up and he clapped his hands hard.
Everyone looked at Karin with burning gazes, feeling as though she were a glowing savior.
"Didn't bring one." Karin spread her hands again.
"Damn it! Wouldn't the future me feel disgusted just thinking about this moment?" Baimu roared furiously.
Watching the poisonous fog gradually descend, Baki completely gave up. He wrapped the urine-soaked bedsheet around his face, pulled out his wind blade, and hacked at the iron wall strike by strike, determined to carve out an exit even if it meant shaving it down piece by piece.
"Do we really have to wrap it..." Nonou's hands trembled slightly as she held the damp cloth.
"Hee hee hee hee... I'm not teasing you guys anymore." Karin grinned and pulled a small scroll out of her ninja tool pouch.
"Oh!!! My little darling, it's a gas mask! I knew I wouldn't be that foolish! The future me must have experienced a lifelong trauma after doing that and sent you back to rewrite this dark memory!" Baimu threw the damp cloth to the ground, extremely excited.
"No—way—!" Karin wagged her finger and formed the summoning hand seal. With a *poof*, a mechanical creation about a meter long emerged from the scroll. Resembling a robotic arm, it was covered in complex conduits, and its entire body had a pink electroplated coating with a gleaming metallic reflection that made people fall in love with it at first sight.
"This is..." Baimu's eyes lit up, his ten fingers trembling as he stroked the smooth and cold surface, as gently as stroking a lover. It had such a strong sense of technology!
"Hextech Steam Gauntlet, sealed with the chakra of the Five-Tails, Matatabi, as its power source. Absolute violent aesthetics, built jointly by dad and Uncle Han, a birthday gift given to me when I was five years old, and still my favorite to this day!" Karin grinned and slid her entire arm into the steam gauntlet.
Click, click, click, click...
A sound of assembly echoed from inside the mechanical gauntlet, and three full seconds later, it locked completely onto Karin's right arm, the entire gauntlet making her petite body look immensely powerful.
"Whoa!!! Girls... should definitely play with violent armor!" Baimu's eyes were practically sparking; he couldn't wait to help Karin complete her full set of armor immediately.
Whoosh!!
A blast of scorching steam erupted from the back of the gauntlet.
"Step aside, it's just a piece of scrap metal." Karin clenched her fist and gathered her internal energy into her core.
"Hah!!!"
Amidst an angry roar, Karin's momentum steadily climbed.
Boom!
With a single punch, a huge fist imprint immediately caved into the iron wall blocking the entrance.
"Dad told me, don't expect miracles!"
Boom!!
With a second punch, the entire iron wall bent and deformed.
"So... I only believe in brute force!!!"
"Bomb... Heavy Punch!!!"
Whoosh!!!
Steam violently erupted.
Boom!!!
An entire multi-ton iron wall flew straight out, passed through hundreds of meters of the corridor, crashed out of the tower, and plummeted from a height of hundreds of meters, smashing countless puppet soldiers to pieces.
"Too cool!!! Karin is super awesome!" Baimu and Tobi cheered and clapped!
"Yeah!!!" Karin turned around for a high-five, forgot to adjust her strength, and directly smacked Baimu into the wardrobe, burying him in a head full of wood splinters.
Baimu still smiled foolishly, his face full of happiness.
"If I had a monster-strength daughter like this... I'd die of a headache..." Nonou wiped away her sweat.
"Such power... Has the future really become a world of technology?" Yura was inwardly shocked.
Baki's face was as pale as mourning cloth, his heart as dead as ashes. In the entire room, he was the only one who had actually put urine on his face.
