Utter Defeat
It was with great difficulty that Ye Feng and his companions managed to extricate the Huaxia army from the encirclement and slaughter of the Chiron and Celestial armies. In doing so, they all sustained serious internal injuries—none more so than Ye Feng himself, who was gravely wounded and fell into a coma.
This was how it happened: Angus, fully aware of Ye Feng’s intentions, revealed his plan to the Chiron clan chief. The Chiron chief, of course, would not stand by and let Ye Feng escape—especially after Angus casually claimed that the Celestial Dragon’s core was in Ye Feng’s possession. Though Angus had fabricated this without a second thought, the Chiron chief believed him. Without hesitation, the chief charged onto the battlefield and made straight for Ye Feng.
Although Ye Feng was the strongest on Earth, compared to the Chiron clan chief, the gap was substantial. Even in an environment with ten times the normal oxygen, Ye Feng was no match for him. After just ten exchanges, the Chiron chief struck Ye Feng squarely in the chest, sending him flying. Only the quick reflexes of Madman saved him; he rushed forward and caught Ye Feng in time.
By then, the Huaxia army had mostly retreated, so Madman, carrying Ye Feng, began to flee as well. Yet the Chiron chief was relentless in his pursuit. Madman was terrified—if even Ye Feng could not stand against this foe, what hope did he have? Desperate, he increased his speed, hoping to escape, but the chief caught up quickly. At this critical moment, the five reclusive god-level masters finally played their part.
The five stood side by side, burning the last of their life force to forge a wall of life, buying precious time for Ye Feng and the others to escape.
At last, Ye Feng and his companions found safety within the Ocean Fortress. The fortress did not disappoint them; it withstood a direct blow from the Chiron chief unscathed. With Huai Huai at the helm, the Ocean Fortress rapidly dove into the depths, just as he had predicted—the Chiron chief’s body could not withstand the crushing pressure of the deep sea.
The Chiron chief was furious, and the consequences were severe. In his rage, he unleashed his wrath upon Angus and the others, slaughtering many.
It was at this time that Andrea, leading a group to surrender, acted on Ye Feng’s earlier instructions. He had discussed this very plan with her.
The Chiron race had no interest in women, except those of their own kind. Ye Feng exploited this trait, feeling confident enough to let Andrea remain on land.
“You wish to surrender?” the Chiron chief asked in a cold, menacing tone, his anger barely contained at failing to find the Celestial Dragon’s core.
Before Andrea could speak, Angus interjected, “Chief Chihuo, this woman was once allied with Ye Feng—she’s definitely his spy!”
Andrea did not dispute Angus’s accusation. Instead, she replied calmly, “There is a saying among Earth’s people: ‘A wise man submits to circumstances.’ Since you, Sir Chihuo, now hold absolute advantage, surrender is, of course, my only choice.”
Chihuo studied Andrea for some time before speaking slowly, “What can you offer me? I am not lacking in manpower.”
“I can give you information about a mysterious orb,” Andrea replied with a smile.
“A mysterious orb?” Chihuo’s interest was piqued.
“That’s right,” Andrea said.
“Tell me what you know. If it’s of use, I’ll accept your surrender,” Chihuo demanded.
“I know that beneath the headquarters of the Huaxia Dragon Division lies a mysterious orb, radiating powerful energy,” Andrea answered directly, wasting no words.
As soon as she finished, Vengeance objected, “You’re lying! There’s nothing beneath the Dragon Division headquarters!” His strength had been too low during his time there to sense the wild energies surging within, so he knew nothing of the Chiron core.
“Silence!” Chihuo snapped at Vengeance, then turned to Andrea. “Go on.”
“I don’t know exactly what it is, but I believe it’s what you’re seeking,” Andrea continued.
“How do you know?” Chihuo pressed.
“I guessed,” Andrea replied. “As for how I learned of the orb, it was a coincidence—I happened to overhear it from a senior member of the Huaxia Dragon Division.”
“Then what are we waiting for? Lead the way!” Chihuo ordered.
“I don’t know the way. Vengeance here was a member of the Dragon Division. He should know something,” Andrea deftly shifted responsibility to Vengeance.
As expected, Chihuo’s focus turned to Vengeance.
“Speak! Where is the Dragon Division headquarters?” Chihuo thundered.
Startled, Vengeance stammered, “It’s… to the north. I… I’ll take you there.”
“Quickly!” Chihuo said, grabbing Vengeance and taking flight to the north. The remaining Chiron elders and their retinue followed.
Under Vengeance’s guidance, Chihuo soon arrived above the ruins of the Dragon Division headquarters.
“This is the place! Dig!” Chihuo commanded. All the Chirons began to dig, and before long, they uncovered the Chiron core deep underground.
This core was the bargaining chip Ye Feng had prepared for Andrea. He knew that, after Huaxia’s defeat, Andrea would have to surrender; if she couldn’t offer valuable information, the Chirons would kill her without hesitation. To Ye Feng, the Chiron core was of little consequence—the Celestial Dragon’s core was far more powerful and versatile.
“This is Elder Chiyou’s core!” Chihuo exclaimed, elated, as he held the core in his hand.
The Chiron race was fiercely united; they treasured every core of their kin. Discovering Chiyou’s core brought them immense joy.
Andrea’s flying speed was unimpressive. Her strength had been forcibly raised to the celestial level by Ye Feng, so she lagged behind. By the time she caught up with the group, Chihuo already had Chiyou’s core in his grasp.
When Andrea landed, Chihuo spoke, “Andrea, your information was accurate. I accept your surrender.”
“Thank you, Chief Chihuo,” Andrea replied with a smile and a bow, secretly breathing a sigh of relief—being an undercover agent was no easy feat.
Thus, the invasion came to an end, with Earth’s native inhabitants utterly defeated.
The first to surrender, Vengeance, followed by Angus, and finally Andrea, became the new ‘Three Overlords’ of Earth.
The Chirons had a cruel amusement: they delighted in watching creatures of the same race destroy one another. They would split a species into factions, incite them to mutual slaughter, and in the end, execute the survivors. This was why so many planets had been wiped out by their hands. Earth’s situation was dire, for the Three Overlords were utterly incompatible and destined for a fight to the death.
Meanwhile, the Ocean Fortress was far from peaceful; chaos reigned within, and the backbone of their resistance, Ye Feng, was at death’s door.
