Dragon Roaring Heaven’s words made everyone in the room go rigid, even Dragon Cloud Phoenix. Memory inheritance was always one-sided. The gifted Heavenly Dragon had been an ancestor of Dragon Roaring Heaven’s line, and Dragon Azure had never explained the matter in detail, so Dragon Cloud Phoenix had no idea what the true situation was.

“Brother Heaven, what do you mean?” Dragon Cloud Phoenix asked in confusion.

“Do you still remember that legend?” Dragon Roaring Heaven asked with a smile.

“The one about Dragon Overlord?” Dragon Cloud Phoenix guessed.

“That’s right. Dragon Overlord was my ancestor. His cultivation method was only suited to Heavenly Dragons without an inner core. After Dragon Azure modified Leaf Wind’s meridians, he became a Heavenly Dragon, a Heavenly Dragon without an inner core. Dragon Azure already taught him the technique, and now that method is slowly circulating within his body.” Dragon Roaring Heaven said slowly.

“So what if he succeeds? Even then, he’ll only be a Heavenly Dragon, and he still won’t be able to send a signal.” Dragon Cloud Phoenix said.

“You don’t understand. Once Dragon Overlord’s technique forms an inner core, it grants many miraculous abilities. The first is the ability to transmit a signal without any obstruction,” Dragon Roaring Heaven said with a smile.

“Can it really work? He’s still a human from Earth.” Dragon Cloud Phoenix said.

“Let’s try it. He’s our only hope now.” Dragon Roaring Heaven had no other choice.

Though their conversation was rapid, everyone in the room understood it clearly: Leaf Wind was Earth’s hope.

“Then when will Leaf Wind wake up? He’s already been unconscious for five years,” Amy asked when the two of them fell silent.

“Did he eat some kind of special substance before? Do you know what it was?” Dragon Roaring Heaven countered.

“The thing he ate was called Crimson Flame Ice Lotus. It looks like this.” Mischief projected the appearance and characteristics of the Crimson Flame Ice Lotus before Dragon Roaring Heaven.

After studying it carefully for a while, Dragon Roaring Heaven finally said, “According to this information, Leaf Wind should have awakened long ago. Is your data perhaps incomplete?”

“The data isn’t incomplete. It’s just that what Leaf Wind ate was fully wild, while the records in my database are all cultivated specimens. The wild ones may contain far more energy,” Mischief explained.

“Do you have a recording of the moment Leaf Wind ate the Crimson Flame Ice Lotus?” Dragon Roaring Heaven asked.

“Yes. Do you want to see it?” Mischief replied. Its recording function was no ordinary playback; it could make a viewer feel as if they were there in person.

“Play it. I want to know exactly what he ate,” Dragon Roaring Heaven said.

“Then as you wish.” With that, Mischief played the scene of Leaf Wind eating the Crimson Flame Ice Lotus.

Very soon, Dragon Roaring Heaven was stunned. On this backward planet, there was actually such an extraordinary life-form. The energy contained in that plant even surpassed their inner cores.

“That’s incredible,” Dragon Cloud Phoenix could not help exclaiming.

“I know why he still hasn’t awakened,” Dragon Roaring Heaven said next.

“Why?” Amy asked.

“The energy concentration of this Crimson Flame Ice Lotus is at least a hundred times greater than what the records just showed. For Leaf Wind’s physique to swallow it and not explode on the spot is already remarkable,” Dragon Roaring Heaven explained.

“Then what exactly is Leaf Wind’s condition now? He has no heartbeat and no breathing,” Flower Shadow added.

“His condition is very unusual. He should have entered a self-sealed state. This is a self-protective mechanism used by living beings when they cannot withstand injury from the outside world or from within themselves. Very few creatures possess such a capability. It’s rather like how humans on Earth faint when overstimulated, except this self-sealing is an advanced form of that. It makes a person appear dead, and only after he fully recovers on his own will he awaken again. So...” Dragon Roaring Heaven’s meaning was plain.

“You don’t know either?” Amy asked.

“We Heavenly Dragons are not the highest evolutionary race in the universe, so we only understand this in fragments. I can only say that, judging from the energy within Leaf Wind, the Crimson Flame Ice Lotus’s power has already been absorbed by his body. But when he can transform that power into his own, and when he will wake up, we cannot estimate. It should take some time, though my guess is that it won’t exceed a hundred years,” Dragon Roaring Heaven said.

“Oh.” Amy sighed. The other women were also somewhat dejected. They had not expected even the Heavenly Dragons to be powerless.

Compared with the situation inside the cavern, the world outside was far more chaotic. Fiery Chi was furious. He was now certain that he had been played for a fool, and played completely. The result was that, in shame and rage, he once again went on a killing spree.

“Why? How did he get away?” Fiery Chi roared in a rage, more to himself than to anyone else.

Angus trembled beside him. When Fiery Chi captured Dragon Roaring Heaven, Angus had not been allowed to take part, so he did not know what had happened, and he did not dare say much. He could only keep his head down and stand to the side, hoping Fiery Chi would vent his anger quickly and let him go.

“Why aren’t you saying anything? Tell me where else on Earth they can hide!” Fiery Chi shouted at Angus and the others.

Angus no longer dared remain silent. Several people had already been killed for doing just that. In a weak voice, he said, “Maybe they hid in a cave again, just like last time. I’ll increase the search effort.”

“Search my ass! You’ve been saying that for years! What have you found? You couldn’t find the Heavenly Dragon inner core! You couldn’t find those people! And now you still can’t find Dragon Roaring Heaven and his wife! What use are you to me?” With a furious kick, Fiery Chi sent Angus tumbling a great distance away, coughing blood.

Fiery Chi’s patience had truly been worn down to almost nothing.

“Chief Fiery Chi, please don’t be angry. Give me a little more time, and I’ll definitely find them!” Angus said humbly. He could feel the threat of death, and his voice rushed out in a way it never had before as he made his promise.

“A little more time? How much do you want? How much time have you already asked for over the years?” Fiery Chi strode forward and kicked him again.

“This is the last time. It really is the last time,” Angus said, trembling.

“Fine! I’ll give you one last chance. Within a month, I want those two damned Heavenly Dragons standing in front of me, or I’ll kill you!” Fiery Chi said viciously. “Now get lost! All of you, get lost!”

Angus scrambled away in miserable disarray, a pitiful and laughable sight. Seeing this, Andrea could not help feeling somewhat sorrowful. The former ruler of Earth had fallen to such a state; he might as well be dead. Still, Andrea said nothing. She felt increasingly that she herself was in danger. Watching her own side grow smaller and smaller, she could not help regretting that she had ever stayed on the surface all those years ago.

Angus’s people quickly set to work. His mind was sharp, and before long he had analyzed the region where Dragon Roaring Heaven and his wife had disappeared. A carpet search began.
