Volume One: The Lich's Calamity Chapter 205: The Three Purities Slay the Corpse, Binding the Spirit to Assimilate the Violet Aura
Kunlun Mountain, Taiqing Peak.
At this moment, the three Sanqing brothers sat together within the Taiqing Hall. Their bodies were suffused with the rhythms of the Dao. Taiqing was enveloped in black and white light, the laws of the universe swirling around him until he appeared as one with heaven and earth. Meanwhile, the auras of Yuanshi and Tongtian were deep and vast, as if they could pierce through space and time to perceive all things. Suddenly, infinite primordial spiritual energy converged upon them, creating a vortex so dense that the misty vapor began to condense into liquid.
Outside Taiqing Peak, Antarctic and Duobao stood watching.
"I wonder how our masters and the grand uncle are faring," Duobao remarked.
"Given the density of the spiritual energy, it won't be long before they successfully make their breakthrough," Antarctic replied, his expression calm.
Inside the hall, endless power—the very essence of heaven and earth—flowed through the bodies of the three. Above Taiqing’s head, an image of the Taiji diagram manifested, while the Hunyuan Taiji Bagua Furnace hovered at his side. Yuanshi was surrounded by the chaos of creation, his aura merging with the cosmos as the Hunyuan Order Wheel spun above him, cloaking him in the light of primal order. Tongtian appeared like a sword beam cleaving the firmament, brilliant and dazzling. A sharp, peerless sword intent erupted from him, as if he were a blade capable of severing the very bonds of the universe, with the Hunyuan Heavenly Mystery Yellow Tower floating by his side.
Though each exhibited a different manifestation of the Great Dao, they did not interfere with one another. As their spiritual rhythms reached a critical peak, their auras began to merge in a mysterious, indescribable fashion, their laws intertwining until they were indistinguishable.
Suddenly, a profound and mysterious aura emanated from Taiqing. Within his primordial spirit, three spectral figures began to solidify. Had Qingxuan been present, he would have recognized what was happening. Taiqing himself had entered an ineffable state—not quite an epiphany, yet beyond ordinary comprehension. He realized that his understanding of the laws had transcended conscious thought; he had mastered the innate divine ability he had possessed since his birth: "One Qi Transforms into Three Purities."
As Taiqing grasped this, Yuanshi and Tongtian suddenly received the method of this technique as well. "One Qi Transforms into Three Purities! To think we possessed such an ability!" They realized now why their eldest brother had never used or taught it; the technique could only be mastered through self-realization, not imparted by others. It was only because their fates were intertwined and they were cultivating together that the resonance of their auras allowed the knowledge to pass to the others.
However, their primary objective was not this technique, but the severing of their third corpse—a rare opportunity for all three.
Emerging from his profound state, Taiqing exchanged a look with his brothers. With a synchronized shout of "Sever!", they shed the obsessions of their hearts, casting them into the primordial treasures prepared for this purpose. As their obsessions merged with these treasures, their auras surged, their power expanding manifold.
Suddenly, their expressions shifted. With a thought, a streak of violet light flew from their primordial spirits, merging directly into the third corpses they had just severed.
At Mount Buzhou, Qingxuan watched from afar. "To think those three little ones sensed it and seized the opportunity. It seems your fates have truly changed." Sensing the sudden release of their power, he had turned his gaze toward them, witnessing the entire event.
The Sanqing brothers quickly suppressed their auras and vanished from Taiqing Hall, taking their severed corpses with them.
"What happened? Why have their auras completely disappeared?" Duobao asked, bewildered. Antarctic could only shake his head.
Deep within the Sanqing Spiritual Realm, the brothers stood before their newly severed third corpses. "What are we to do now?" Yuanshi asked.
Taiqing sighed, "I have no immediate answer, but since you both now understand the 'One Qi Transforms into Three Purities' method, I shall demonstrate it for you. How much you grasp depends on your own insight."
Taiqing manifested his primordial spirit, and with a thought, three figures identical to himself appeared beside him, their auras perfectly aligned. As he demonstrated the technique and explained its essence, his brothers listened intently.
Taiqing then looked anxiously at the three corpses. The Hongmeng Violet Qi, which had remained dormant and untouchable within their spirits, had now merged with their obsessions. They realized that this energy sought to bind them to the Heavenly Dao, a path that might limit their future potential. Unwilling to be shackled, they had expelled it from their spirits, only to find it embedded within their severed corpses.
"So this is why the Sages are so powerful," they whispered. Through their severed corpses, they could now perceive the source of the Heavenly Dao, and for the first time, the entire Great Dao of the Primordial World lay unveiled before them.
