The plot of Reality Gem. Naturally, the protagonist is Jane Foster. The Reality Gem is more accurately described as an Aether Particle. Because of Jane Foster, the Dark Elves, who had been exiled to the farthest edge of the universe, detected the disturbance caused by the Aether Particle and, guided by it, found her.

In Thor: The Dark World, the situation escalated when the Aether Particle entered Jane’s body. After Thor brought her back to Asgard, the Dark Elves breached Asgard from within, resulting directly in the death of Odin's wife at the hands of the Dark Elves. Then, the Dark Elves took Jane to Earth, intending to extract the Aether Particle amid the chaos of the Nine Realms and ignite a war. Unfortunately for them, the war was thwarted before it could begin by Thor.

This is the general storyline of Thor: The Dark World, which has little to do with the god of thunder himself.

Odin, the All-Father and father of the gods, a solitary elder of absolute authority, sat upon his throne as usual, reflecting on life. Like a sudden revelation, he perceived something unusual—an intense darkness that felt profoundly unnatural and deeply disturbing. This darkness was terrifying and filled him with apprehension.

He began to reminisce like an old man contemplating life, recalling a time long ago and a group of beings exiled to the universe’s edge: the Dark Elves, who longed day and night for the world to be submerged in darkness.

Odin vividly remembered the era when all nine worlds were ravaged by darkness. Those expressionless fiends schemed endlessly to use the Aether Particle to wage war, restore the glory of the Dark Elves, and unify the Nine Realms under their dominion.

Odin could not tolerate this any longer.

Old age brings many thoughts and fears. This sudden sense of darkness made him suspect the Dark Elves were plotting a coup. Malekith, that wretched creature, was surely returning, and trouble would soon befall the Nine Realms. Rising from his throne, Odin clenched his spear firmly and slammed it into the ground.

“Darkness approaches...”

A chilling frost of death and shadow engulfed his entire vision.

“The Nine Realms will converge!”

More than that, Odin foresaw the overlapping of the Nine Realms. Once the boundaries between them blurred, if the Dark Elves—or indeed any faction—launched a war at that moment, the consequences would be dire.

“Thor—”

Odin immediately sent this revelation to Thor.

“Father, do you need me?” Thor, on Earth, heard his father’s call.

“Thor, I sense a crisis, and this time it will occur on Earth. If the Nine Realms truly connect, a catastrophe will ripple across all nine worlds. I need you to stop this impending disaster.”

“So... does that mean I can stay on Earth a while longer?”

Thor’s greatest wish now was to remain on Earth for a bit more time. He was searching for Jane.

“Exactly. I know you are familiar with Earth matters, so this task is yours. Heimdall will inform you of the details soon.”

After communicating with Thor, Odin quickly contacted Heimdall.

“Heimdall, watch over Thor and monitor the corners of the universe and temporal rifts. I have a premonition: the Dark Elves are about to return.”

“As you command, my king.”

Heimdall faithfully carried out Odin’s orders, though a vague unease lingered in his mind.

Just as Odin sensed the convergence of the Nine Realms, in some corner of the cosmos, Malekith's face twisted into a smile.

Since his defeat by Odin, he had been gathering his strength.

“First we were defeated by Odin and then banished from our homeland. Now, we shall return to Vanaheim, reclaim our legacy, and ensure our race’s survival. I will cast the Asgardians into a fate far more wretched than ours, and darkness will ultimately prevail.”

Malekith watched with subtle satisfaction as one Dark Elf warrior after another awakened.

His lieutenant, Agmund, approached and interrupted his reverie.

“Leader, instruments indicate the Nine Realms’ convergence is still far off. We’ve only detected a faint trace; we need more coordinates to guide us.”

“How long have we waited, Agmund? How many millennia have we been exiled?”

“Thousands of years, Leader.” In the darkness, only Agmund’s eyes and white teeth gleamed.

Malekith’s typically unchanging expression darkened. “I cannot wait any longer. The Dark Elves cannot wait forever—we must learn to create our own opportunities. What I mean is...”

He turned to his second-in-command. “To hell with celestial convergence! To hell with the unification of the Nine Realms! I only want to deal with Asgard now. No one can stop me. I will kill Odin, that one-eyed old man, first. Then, the legend of the return of darkness will be fulfilled.”

“Yes, your will.”

Like the inexorable path of fate,

Because of a gravitational anomaly at a factory in England, Jane and her astronomy research team had traced the location. They were now on their way to the factory. Thor, having failed to find Jane in New York, followed the mysterious guidance to London.

Jane’s team drove toward the factory, singing along the way, when suddenly Thor descended from the sky and blocked their path. He landed right in front of their car like a living barricade.

Startled, instead of braking, the driver accidentally hit the accelerator, and the car lunged forward. Thor, in an impressive display, stopped the vehicle with one hand, deforming the hood with his strength and nearly lifting the car’s front wheels off the ground.

“Oh, shit, what kind of superhuman is this?”

Everyone in Jane’s astronomy team saw Thor’s sudden appearance. Except for Jane and Sindre Gosa, the others were utterly bewildered.

Jane opened the car door and stepped out, looking at Thor.

Thor stood confidently with his arms wide open as if ready to embrace them, winking at Jane Foster.

“Jane! What are you doing? Don’t go out—it’s dangerous!”

Feigning concern for Jane, Sindre Gosa immediately contacted Roald.

As the dust settled, everyone finally took in the scene before them.

Their eyes filled with astonishment.

Before them stood a very manly, domineering, and masculine blonde giant, holding a hammer, but with a foolishly open embrace.

Jane took a few steps forward, then hesitated and stepped back slightly before moving forward again. Thor watched her with a broad smile.

After a moment’s thought, a smile spread across Jane Foster’s face.

His smile made Thor even happier.

“Jane, long time no see. Miss me?”

“Smack—”

To the shock of everyone present, Jane strode forward and gave Thor a swift slap.
