Chapter One Hundred Twenty: Father of the Gods Above
“Are you saying I missed out on this celebration again?”
On the top floor of Stark Tower, Tony Stark looked at Volkan with disbelief. “Hey, my friend, can you imagine the agony of being left out of a party?”
“Yes, my friend, I understand,” Volkan replied with a smile.
“Jarvis, connect to the satellite. I want to see what’s going on in London,” Tony said, instructing Jarvis to access the Stark-exclusive satellite.
“According to the astral readings, a unique celestial movement and energy reaction have been detected in Yorkshire, England. These energy waves have caused many strange phenomena in the sky, though the cause remains unknown and is currently under investigation.”
“Oh? Could it be aliens? Are they preparing to invade Earth? Those celestial signs suggest a special energy reaction. Ever since the New York aircraft carrier incident, it feels like I haven’t had any action for a long time,” Tony said, unable to resist a bit of sarcasm.
For someone who thrives on excitement, being sidelined was pure torture.
It goes without saying, much like in the movies, Malekith would surely be killed off by the plot, then the cursed warriors would find Thanos, and following this event, Odin and Asgard would also begin to decline.
Kel’Thuzad portrayed the plot masterfully. Before his mirror was shattered by Thor, he had already extracted the Aether particles from Jane Foster, later returning a complete Jane and Frigga.
Returning a complete queen naturally had other implications.
This time, the story began with the Dark Elves and ended with the destruction of Kel’Thuzad’s mirror. Roald obtained the Aether particles and the Eternal Flame, while the chaos in Asgard was set in motion.
“Gods, they have arrived.”
The question remained of how Frigga would be laid to rest.
If this queen were not given a water or fire burial but instead placed in Valhalla, Roald could control the fallen warriors through her.
Moreover, through Frigga, he could constantly monitor information from Asgard.
Losing a queen could serve many purposes.
Before long, there would be no need to fear Odin’s threat anymore.
Meanwhile, in a room somewhere on Queen’s Street, Roald began his daily muttering, observing Asgard’s situation through the eyes of Jane and Frigga.
---
In the film, Loki disguised himself and returned to Asgard. Roald wanted to learn what he was up to through Frigga.
After scavenging some items from Odin’s treasury, Roald left some arrangements in place, then used the Space Stone with Sindragosa to return to New York. He wasn’t sure if Heimdall had seen his actions, but this was a rare opportunity.
He had to set things up before Hela appeared, or else he would lose much of the advantage against her.
Upon returning to New York, Roald immediately planned to use the Reality Stone to transform the spacecraft carrier he built into something akin to the Black Blade Fortress. Utilizing the Reality Stone felt like harnessing imagination and creativity, and he also needed to study how to properly wield its power or even summon a new hero.
However, just as he was about to use the Reality Stone for transformation, Sindragosa’s sudden alert warned him that someone had arrived.
A silver-haired, one-eyed elder appeared in the room.
Roald stood up immediately.
After all, Odin’s image was too iconic.
He was one of the figures Roald feared and preferred not to face directly.
Odin’s screen time in the movies was limited and his actual combat appearances even fewer, but within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he was undeniably a top-tier background figure—the strongest among the powerful.
Standing upright, adjusting his collar, Roald activated all his protective cards on himself.
Then, looking at Odin, he bowed slightly.
“Hail, the supreme ruler of Asgard, leader of the gods, guardian of the Nine Realms, defender of order, Father of the Gods—Odin. Welcome.”
However, Odin’s expression instantly turned serious and cautious at Roald’s words.
An ordinary person would never know his true identity or visage.
He felt the need to take this seriously.
“You’re not an ordinary man, so you should know why I have come.”
“Yes, Your Majesty, I understand your purpose,” Roald said, revealing the Reality Stone.
“You absorbed the Aether particles? No, more than one...”
“Yes, as you can see, I have absorbed three stones and control them, keeping them in a stable triangle,” Roald replied.
Seeing that Roald had absorbed three stones, Odin frowned deeply. Seizing them by force was no longer an option.
---
After all, no one knew what would happen if those three stones were taken out—would he remain in control or spiral out of control? Would he fight to the death? Odin was uncertain.
“You should know no one can contain multiple stones simultaneously. The overload would cause your body to explode. Are you sure about this?”
“Yes, Your Majesty, I understand what you mean. But some things defy logic; with proper mastery of the stones’ powers, the overload issue can be ignored. Your worries are unnecessary.”
“You already possess three Infinity Stones. What do you intend to do?”
Odin asked again, his eyes flickering with an unreadable emotion.
Instead of attacking immediately, he questioned Roald, who smiled in response.
“I trust that with your abilities, you can perceive much that I cannot. It’s far better for the stones to be in my hands than in others’. Put another way, with the stones on me, I can prevent some disasters even you would not want to see.”
Roald was, of course, referring to Thanos—and Hela as well.
Who Odin thought of through Roald’s eyes was irrelevant.
“I admit, I see that you and your companions have considerable power, enough to guard the stones. But you must understand, having so many Infinity Stones together will surely bring disaster.”
Odin had always believed that placing the stones together would spell catastrophe.
It was a mental habit.
“So, with all three stones on me, have you seen any ill effects?” Roald’s words silenced Odin.
After all, nothing unusual had happened despite Roald’s control of three stones. Odin began to wonder if he had been mistaken.
After some thought, Odin spoke again.
“How do you view Asgard?”
He posed an unexpected question.
